Forms of Haiku

In general, we teach school children that a haiku is a three line poem, with 17 syllables, and a 5-7-5 syllable structure.  However, that isn't exactly accurate and the exact structure cannot be duplicated when translated into English.

For this blog, I will be writing in more of the senryu style.  Simply, they will all be under 17 syllables, but will not be rigidly divided into three lines with strict confines on the number of syllables.

Also, not every poem will deal strictly with nature, which is a tradition in haiku poetry.
